Description

Getting up at 3:30 in the morning is tough but unsociable clouds do not respect human rights. It cleared up for while. A torch suggested that the air was about 80% humid, then, after a quick collimation with Spica through the binned CMOS camera, the scope saw the Moon like through a swimming pool, but for fairness, it was a kids pool, which is no major pain when you can keep then gain low yet record with short exposure times around 5-10ms. Tracking was good, meaning less stacking artifacts, wider images and safer overlapping for mosaics.

The image is a mosaic of 10 panels of 600 frames each, 6ms-8ms, gain 200, 60fps, mono8, 10-bit ADC, not drizzled.

I will upload close-up images from the same session later. The forecast for the rest of this month is, well..., AstroBin is a community with gentlemen rules.
